GeneCards Summary for TNRC6B Gene
TNRC6B (Trinucleotide Repeat Containing Adaptor 6B) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with TNRC6B include Uterine Benign Neoplasm and Reproductive Organ Benign Neoplasm. Among its related pathways are Cellular Senescence (REACTOME) and PI3K/AKT activation. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include nucleotide binding. An important paralog of this gene is TNRC6A.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Summary for TNRC6B Gene
Plays a role in RNA-mediated gene silencing by both micro-RNAs (miRNAs) and short interfering RNAs (siRNAs). Required for miRNA-dependent translational repression and siRNA-dependent endonucleolytic cleavage of complementary mRNAs by argonaute family proteins. As scaffoldng protein associates with argonaute proteins bound to partially complementary mRNAs and simultaneously can recruit CCR4-NOT and PAN deadenylase complexes.
