This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family, as well as the EDG family of proteins. This protein functions as a cellular receptor for lysophosphatidic acid and mediates lysophosphatidic acid-evoked calcium mobilization. This receptor couples predominantly to G(q/11) alpha proteins. GeneCards Summary for LPAR3 Gene
LPAR3 (Lysophosphatidic Acid Receptor 3) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with LPAR3 include Ovarian Cancer and Triple-Receptor Negative Breast Cancer. Among its related pathways are RET signaling and Signaling by GPCR. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include G protein-coupled receptor activity and phospholipid binding. An important paralog of this gene is LPAR1.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Summary for LPAR3 Gene
Receptor for lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), a mediator of diverse cellular activities. May play a role in the development of ovarian cancer. Seems to be coupled to the G(i)/G(o) and G(q) families of heteromeric G proteins.
