The protein encoded by this gene is a B-cell specific antigen, and a low-affinity receptor for IgE. It has essential roles in B cell growth and differentiation, and the regulation of IgE production. This protein also exists as a soluble secreted form, then functioning as a potent mitogenic growth factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
GeneCards Summary for FCER2 Gene
FCER2 (Fc Fragment Of IgE Receptor II) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with FCER2 include Chronic Conjunctivitis and Persistent Polyclonal B-Cell Lymphocytosis. Among its related pathways are NOTCH2 Activation and Transmission of Signal to the Nucleus and GPCR Pathway. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include carbohydrate binding and IgE binding. An important paralog of this gene is CLEC4G.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot for FCER2 Gene
