Previous GeneCards Identifiers for FBXO10 Gene
Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXO10, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1 (MIM 601434), cullin (see CUL1; MIM 603134), and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains (Jin et al., 2004 [PubMed 15520277]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]
GeneCards Summary for FBXO10 Gene
FBXO10 (F-Box Protein 10) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Innate Immune System and Class I MHC mediated antigen processing and presentation. Gene Ontology (GO) annotations related to this gene include ubiquitin-protein transferase activity. An important paralog of this gene is FBXO11.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot for FBXO10 Gene
Substrate-recognition component of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein)-type E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. The SCF(FBXO10) complex mediates ubiquitination and degradation of BCL2, an antiapoptotic protein, thereby playing a role in apoptosis by controlling the stability of BCL2.
