Previous HGNC Symbols for ALPG Gene
There are at least four distinct but related alkaline phosphatases: intestinal, placental, placental-like, and liver/bone/kidney (tissue non-specific). The product of this gene is a membrane bound glycosylated enzyme, localized to testis, thymus and certain germ cell tumors, that is closely related to both the placental and intestinal forms of alkaline phosphatase. GeneCards Summary for ALPG Gene
ALPG (Alkaline Phosphatase, Germ Cell) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with ALPG include Seminoma and Gonadoblastoma. Among its related pathways are Folate biosynthesis and Post-translational modification- synthesis of GPI-anchored proteins. An important paralog of this gene is ALPP.
