External Ids for NTRK3 Gene
This gene encodes a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) family. This kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signalling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation and may play a role in the development of proprioceptive neurons that sense body position. Mutations in this gene have been associated with medulloblastomas, secretory breast carcinomas and other cancers. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2011]
GeneCards Summary for NTRK3 Gene
NTRK3 (Neurotrophic Tyrosine Kinase, Receptor, Type 3) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with NTRK3 include fibrosarcoma and congenital mesoblastic nephroma. Among its related pathways are GPCR Pathway and Akt Signaling. GO annotations related to this gene include p53 binding and ephrin receptor binding. An important paralog of this gene is ALK.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot for NTRK3 Gene
Receptor for neurotrophin-3 (NT-3). This is a tyrosine-protein kinase receptor. Known substrates for the trk receptors are SHC1, PI-3 kinase, and PLCG1. The different isoforms do not have identical signaling properties
