Previous Symbols for ANXA3 Gene
This gene encodes a member of the annexin family. Members of this calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein family play a role in the regulation of cellular growth and in signal transduction pathways. This protein functions in the inhibition of phopholipase A2 and cleavage of inositol 1,2-cyclic phosphate to form inositol 1-phosphate. This protein may also play a role in anti-coagulation. GeneCards Summary for ANXA3 Gene
ANXA3 (Annexin A3) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Prostaglandin Synthesis and Regulation. GO annotations related to this gene include calcium ion binding and phospholipase A2 inhibitor activity. An important paralog of this gene is ANXA9.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot for ANXA3 Gene
Inhibitor of phospholipase A2, also possesses anti-coagulant properties. Also cleaves the cyclic bond of inositol 1,2-cyclic phosphate to form inositol 1-phosphate
