GeneCards Summary for STK33 Gene:
STK33 (serine/threonine kinase 33) is a protein-coding gene. Diseases associated with STK33 include asthma, and obesity. GO annotations related to this gene include protein serine/threonine kinase activity. An important paralog of this gene is PDIK1L.

UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: STK33_HUMAN, Q9BYT3
Function: Serine/threonine protein kinase which phosphorylates VIME. May play a specific role in the dynamic
behavior of the intermediate filament cytoskeleton by phosphorylation of VIME (By similarity). Not essential for
the survival of KRAS-dependent AML cell lines
