About This Section
| Entrez Gene summary for NDUFC2-KCTD14: This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the neighboring NDUFC2 (NADH dehydrogenase(ubiquinone) 1, subcomplex unknown, 2, 14.5kDa) and KCTD14 (potassium channel tetramerisation domain containing 14)genes on chromosome 11. The read-through transcripts share sequence identity with the upstream gene product and onevariant has a frameshifted C-terminal region derived from the downstream gene exons. (provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011) UniProtKB/TrEMBL: E9PQ53 Function: Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that isbelieved not to be involved in catalysis. Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to therespiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone (By similarity)
