GeneCards Summary for LTB4R2 Gene
LTB4R2 (Leukotriene B4 Receptor 2) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and Interleukin-3, 5 and GM-CSF signaling. GO annotations related to this gene include G-protein coupled receptor activity and leukotriene B4 receptor activity. An important paralog of this gene is LTB4R.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot for LTB4R2 Gene
Low-affinity receptor for leukotrienes including leukotriene B4. Mediates chemotaxis of granulocytes and macrophages. The response is mediated via G-proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. The rank order of affinities for the leukotrienes is LTB4 > 12-epi-LTB4 > LTB5 > LTB3.
Leukotriene and related receptors are activated by the endogenous ligands leukotriene (LT) B4, LTC4, LTD4, LTE4 and 12-HETE. Leukotrienes are lipid mediators synthesized from arachidonic acid by lipoxygenase enzymes. They are important in inflammatory signaling pathways.
