GeneCards Summary for KIAA0101 Gene
KIAA0101 (KIAA0101) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with KIAA0101 include Posterolateral Myocardial Infarction and Hepatitis C Virus. Among its related pathways are Translesion synthesis by Y family DNA polymerases bypasses lesions on DNA template and DNA Double-Strand Break Repair. GO annotations related to this gene include chromatin binding. An important paralog of this gene is ENSG00000259316.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot for KIAA0101 Gene
PCNA-binding protein that acts as a regulator of DNA repair during DNA replication. Following DNA damage, the interaction with PCNA is disrupted, facilitating the interaction between monoubiquitinated PCNA and the translesion DNA synthesis DNA polymerase eta (POLH) at stalled replisomes, facilitating the bypass of replication-fork-blocking lesions. Also acts as a regulator of centrosome number.
