This gene encodes a member of the dedicator of cytokinesis protein family. Members of this family are guanosine nucleotide exchange factors for Rho GTPases and defined by the presence of conserved DOCK-homology regions. The encoded protein belongs to the D (or Zizimin) subfamily of DOCK proteins, which also contain an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain. Alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]
GeneCards Summary for DOCK10 Gene
DOCK10 (Dedicator Of Cytokinesis 10) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Platelet activation, signaling and aggregation and Regulation of CDC42 activity. GO annotations related to this gene include binding and Rho guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity. An important paralog of this gene is DOCK6.
UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot for DOCK10 Gene
Potential guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF). GEF proteins activate some small GTPases by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP.
