About This Section

Entrez Gene summary for CPD Gene:
The metallocarboxypeptidase family of enzymes is divided into 2 subfamilies based on sequence similarities. The
pancreatic carboxypeptidase-like and the regulatory B-type carboxypeptidase subfamilies. Carboxypeptidase D has
been identified as a regulatory B-type carboxypeptidase. CPD is a homolog of duck gp180, a hepatitis B
virus-binding protein. Transcript variants utilizing alternative polyadenylation signals exist for this gene.
(provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008)

GeneCards Summary for CPD Gene:
CPD (carboxypeptidase D) is a protein-coding gene. Diseases associated with CPD include hepatitis b, and amblyopia, and among its related super-pathways are Golgi Associated Vesicle Biogenesis and Translocation of GLUT4 to the Plasma Membrane. GO annotations related to this gene include metallocarboxypeptidase activity and serine-type carboxypeptidase activity. An important paralog of this gene is CPZ.
