Aliases for CPB1 Gene
External Ids for CPB1 Gene
Three different procarboxypeptidases A and two different procarboxypeptidases B have been isolated. The B1 and B2 forms differ from each other mainly in isoelectric point. Carboxypeptidase B1 is a highly tissue-specific protein and is a useful serum marker for acute pancreatitis and dysfunction of pancreatic transplants. It is not elevated in pancreatic carcinoma. GeneCards Summary for CPB1 Gene
CPB1 (Carboxypeptidase B1 (Tissue)) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CPB1 include tricuspid valve insufficiency and trachea leiomyoma. Among its related pathways are Biosynthesis of the N-glycan precursor (dolichol lipid-linked oligosaccharide, LLO) and transfer to a nascent protein and Pancreatic secretion. GO annotations related to this gene include metallocarboxypeptidase activity and carboxypeptidase activity. An important paralog of this gene is CPA3.
